OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE ROLE:
Our Baristas are responsible for preparing and serving coffee, beverages, and light food items while delivering excellent guest service.
Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and food items according to company standards; take guest orders, process payments, and record transactions in the MICROS system; set up, stock, and maintain coffee cart and work areas; perform opening and closing duties including cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, securing cash banks, and locking designated areas; maintain cleanliness of tables, utensils, equipment, and service areas throughout the shift; handle cash and follow all cashiering, auditing, and security procedures; monitor and operate coffee machines and other equipment safely and correctly; deliver exceptional guest service by greeting guests, anticipating needs, resolving concerns, and creating a positive experience; follow Marriott policies on safety, hygiene, security, and confidentiality; and support teamwork while maintaining professional communication with guests and colleagues.
No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, protecting company assets, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring your uniform and personal appearance are professional. Baristas will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time) and taking a hands-on approach to their work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for Baristas – to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
No related work experience is required.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
