The role focuses on the timely review of new and existing client relationships, high-risk and PEP cases, KYC and correspondent banking queries, transaction monitoring, management information, audits, and regulatory or group initiatives. You will act as a key point of contact for C&IB stakeholders, providing practical guidance on AML, CTF, sanctions, KYC, and account-opening requirements while ensuring reviews and reporting are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Senior Manager with regulatory and senior management engagement, compliance reporting, committee materials, management information, and the timely completion of ad hoc and recurring requests.
Review new and existing client relationships, including PEP, special high-risk, trigger, annual review, relationship management approval, and account-opening cases, from a KYC, AML, CTF, and sanctions perspective.
Provide clear guidance and advice to C&IB and other stakeholders on applicable regulations, group policies, account-opening requirements, compliance procedures, and financial crime risk matters.
Manage and respond to correspondent banking KYC queries, review compliance system alerts and cases, and provide timely, accurate feedback within agreed turnaround times.
Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, remediation activities, group projects, system enhancements, user acceptance testing, training, and the proactive resolution of identified control gaps.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, with at least six years of experience in AML, Compliance, Risk, banking, financial services, or a regulatory body.
Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, sanctions, UAE Central Bank requirements, internal policies, KYC and account-opening documentation, company formation documents, and correspondent banking queries.
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify potentially suspicious activity, interpret trends, obtain reliable information, and recommend appropriate controls.
Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgement, and the confidence to explain and justify compliance decisions to business and senior stakeholders.
A collaborative, improvement-focused approach with strong stakeholder management and teamwork skills; ACAMS or another professional certification in AML, sanctions, compliance, or risk is desirable.
