Job Description
As a Pool & Beach Server with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and hospitality that define our guest experience. Through your warm, attentive service and knowledge of our food and beverage offerings, you will ensure that guests enjoy a memorable and relaxing experience at our pool and beach areas, making every guest feel unique, valued, and well cared for.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly, present menus, and provide accurate information about food and beverage offerings.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and serve them promptly in accordance with hotel service standards.
- Provide poolside and beachside service, ensuring guests receive attentive and efficient service throughout their visit.
- Recommend menu items, beverages, and promotions to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue.
- Prepare and set up service stations, tables, trays, and other operating equipment before service.
- Ensure tables, sun loungers, poolside areas, and beach service areas are clean, tidy, and properly maintained.
- Process orders and payments accurately using the hotel’s POS system and follow established billing procedures.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, respond promptly to requests, and handle guest concerns professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety standards, including pool and beach operating procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of menu ingredients, allergens, promotions, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
- Assist with stock replenishment, equipment handling, and end-of-shift cleaning and closing duties.
- Follow hotel policies, grooming standards, and departmental procedures while demonstrating the Fairmont values and Heartist culture.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the management team.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a food and beverage service role, preferably in a hotel, resort, pool bar, or beach bar environment.
- Good command of spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and basic POS operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A guest-focused attitude with a friendly, professional, and service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment and remain composed under pressure.
- Physically fit to stand and walk for extended periods and work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
